Biography

Sidonie Lancesseur is a French perfumer based in Paris, born and raised in the city with no family background in the fragrance trade. She traces her calling to a childhood sensitivity to smells, both urban and rural, and to an early encounter with a family acquaintance who worked in perfumery. A summer internship in Grasse, where she discovered natural raw materials such as flowers, resins, woods and spices, turned that curiosity into a profession.

After studying at ISIPCA in Versailles, she joined the composition house Robertet in 2004 as an assistant perfumer and became a perfumer roughly two years later, working under the mentorship of Michel Almairac. His influence shaped her preference for short, legible formulas in which every raw material has a clear purpose, and she has built a reputation for an elegant, pared-back style that prizes authenticity and naturalness.

Lancesseur is drawn to darker, unrefined materials and woody notes, favoring patchouli, vetiver, papyrus, labdanum and cedarwood that she softens while preserving their character. Her work spans niche and mainstream houses, and she remains part of Robertet's fine fragrance team in Paris.
