Biography
Linda Song is a Korean-American perfumer and Senior Perfumer at Givaudan, based at the company's New York studio. She came to perfumery from the sciences, studying biology before moving to France, immersing herself in the culture, and earning a master's degree at ISIPCA in Paris.
At Givaudan she has built a broad commercial and fine-fragrance portfolio, working across designer and niche briefs as well as large lifestyle-retail programmes. Her most cited fine-fragrance credit is Tom Ford's Fougère d'Argent (2018), a modern take on the classical fougère that she co-composed with fellow Givaudan perfumer Olivier Gillotin.
Song describes her method as a pairing of scientific precision with artistic intuition, emphasising a close, personal relationship with raw materials. She has spoken publicly about how travel and sourcing trips shape her work, and about the demands and rewards of the modern perfumery profession.
