Julie Pluchet is a French perfumer who grew up in the countryside in a family close to nature, an early influence she still cites in her work. She qualified with a Master of Chemistry in 2003 and entered the industry as a chemist at Mane in Grasse, then followed her interest into composition, studying at the Grasse Institute of Perfumery under perfumers Max Gavarry and Isabelle Burdel.

After working as a perfumer in Paris, she relocated to the United Kingdom in 2012 and has been a Senior Perfumer with CPL Aromas' UK division since 2014.

She is credited as the nose on Clive Christian's Jump Up And Kiss Me Hedonistic, a dense, layered oriental-woody composition, and has created for houses including Penhaligon's, Molton Brown, and The 7 Virtues. Outside the lab she is a keen flamenco dancer, a discipline she has linked to how she approaches building a fragrance.
