Honorine Blanc is a master perfumer whose commercial fragrances have shaped mainstream fine fragrance for two decades. Born in Beirut, she left Lebanon for Paris at sixteen and first pursued the sciences, earning a master's degree in mathematics and chemistry before turning to scent. She trained formally at ISIPCA, the Paris perfumery school, and gained early industry experience before her career took its decisive turn.

An invitation to apprentice under the legendary master perfumer Sophia Grojsman brought Blanc to New York, where she settled and has worked ever since. She joined Firmenich (now dsm-firmenich) in 2005 and became one of its master perfumers, building a prolific body of work across luxury houses, designer labels, and celebrity lines.

Blanc is perhaps best known as one of the perfumers behind Yves Saint Laurent Black Opium (2014), the coffee-and-vanilla blockbuster that spawned a wide franchise, alongside work such as Juicy Couture Viva la Juicy Noir, Lancôme La Nuit Trésor à la Folie, and fragrances for the AERIN collection. She describes her approach as rule-averse, favoring compositions that feel imperfect and addictive over technically tidy ones.

In 2026 she received the Lifetime Achievement Perfumer Award from The Fragrance Foundation (USA), presented at the annual awards in New York, recognizing a career-long body of work.
