Biography

Claire Liégent grew up in France's Champagne region, raised around her father's restaurant kitchen, where an early immersion in the aromas of fine food and champagne shaped a discerning nose. She has described the sensory training of that childhood as the foundation for a career built on precision and memory.

She enrolled at ISIPCA in Versailles in 2007 while apprenticing at Symrise, then spent two years at IFF in Paris working alongside perfumer Pierre Wargnye. After passing an internal selection exam, she completed a multi-year fine-fragrance apprenticeship under the mentorship of Dominique Ropion, and her path took her through IFF posts in the United States, Grasse, and São Paulo.

In 2012 she co-founded the Parisian niche house and boutique Nose. In 2023 she joined the Takasago Fine Fragrance studio, where she composes contemporary niche work. Her creations for the Première Peau line — among them the saffron-forward Insuline Safrine and Rose Monotone — reflect a signature approach that draws deliberate parallels between perfume structure, winemaking, and haute cuisine.
