Anne Flipo is a French perfumer from the Picardy region of northern France, associated with the town of Laon, where she grew up around gardens and farmland that shaped an early sensitivity to natural scent. She trained at ISIPCA in Versailles, France's noted school for perfumery, flavor and cosmetics, and counts master perfumers Michel Almairac and Jean-Louis Sieuzac among her formative mentors.

She built her early career at the fragrance house Charabot before joining International Flavors & Fragrances (IFF) in 2004, where she has remained ever since. In February 2019, IFF named her one of its small circle of Master Perfumers, an internal title reserved for a handful of its most accomplished noses.

Flipo's name sits behind some of the best-selling women's fragrances of the past two decades, most notably Lancôme's La Vie Est Belle, created together with Olivier Polge and Dominique Ropion, as well as Yves Saint Laurent's Libre. Her wider body of work spans Paco Rabanne's Invictus and Lady Million, Givenchy's L'Interdit, Chloé's Love Story, Jimmy Choo Illicit, and niche compositions such as Synthetic Jungle for Editions de Parfums Frédéric Malle and the Herb Garden collection for Jo Malone London. Across that range she is closely tied to orange blossom and neroli, which she has named her favorite raw material, alongside violet, tuberose, iris and green, woody-amber accords.

Her career has been recognized with the Fragrance Foundation's Lifetime Achievement Award, presented at a 2023 ceremony in New York, and with the Prix d'Honneur of the Prix François Coty in 2022.
